Please note all our events are currently in South Dorset.
We are now asking for small donations in exchange for tickets to many of our events. We have introduced this to try and reduce the number of short notice cancellations we receive. Many of our events are designed for relatively small groups to enable people to hear and interact. Consequently, late cancellations have a significant impact upon the number of people who are able to engage with the archaeology of the Valley of Stones.
If this change will prevent you from joining in please get in touch here as they can be waived. In exchange for your donation we will name a stone after you on our final map of the Valley of Stones!
Guided Walks
Join us for a archaeology themed guided walk in the Valley of Stones National Nature Reserve.
The walk will take about 2 hours and please be aware the terrain is uneven.
Creative Walk
We will be joined by Genevieve Carver and Ollie Cameron on the 1st November for a walk with additional creativity. No experience required. This walk will pair well with a creative workshop (or 2).
Guided Walk in the Valley of Stones
Creative Workshops
These workshops will be a fun and novel way to engage with the Valley of Stones landscape. No experience necessary.
Outputs will contribute towards our project exhibition in 2027. For those who are interested, further support and guidance can be provided in developing work for this.
Creative Writing Workshop
This will be a creative writing workshop inspired by the Valley of Stones prehistoric landscape. Join poet and author Genevieve Carver for a fun guided session in which we’ll have a go at creating poems inspired by local archaeology and ecology.
All abilities welcome and no prior experience necessary.
Cyanotype Printmaking Workshop
Join artist Ollie Cameron for a cyanotype printmaking workshop using light sensitive paper and found natural materials. We’ll create distinctive blue prints responding to the natural landscape, the Valley of Stones, and the archaeological traces held within it.
No previous experience or artistic skills needed, and everyone is welcome. Outputs will contribute towards our project interpretation and exhibition.
