What's On

Sarsen Survey
We have set ourselves a slightly bonkers mission: to record all 1500 sarsen stones in the Valley of Stones! This is to provide an incredible dataset that will have implications for the protection and understanding of the landscape for decades to come.

If you’d like to join in this survey, watch our online training and get in touch. The survey can be done in your own time or on our set days.

Surveying sarsens is a lovely way to spend a winter afternoon, enjoying the peace of the Valley of Stones whilst contributing towards this citizen science project. Volunteers who record over 50 sarsens will be declared a sarsen champion and we'll celebrate with results and cream tea in the spring.
YouTube Video Development
Past Participate are producing a series of YouTube videos documenting the research process of Living Amongst the Sarsens and the archaeology of the Valley of Stones landscape. Volunteers are required for filming, editing and on-screen work. Trevor Hearing (professional film maker has agreed to support and guide us through this process, starting with a meeting for those interested in taking part, and who want to learn from his knowledge and experience. Please email hayley@pastparticipate.co.uk for more information.
